1) Is Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton dead?
Yes, Popcorn passed away at age 62 on March 16th, 2009. Cause of death was suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.
2)Am I Popcorn's daughter?
Yes, I'm one of Popcorn's children. One of many.
3)Is the new likker being sold Popcorn's?
No, that's not Popcorn's likker. In my opinion it's impossible for that to be Popcorn's. Dead men run no shine.

You are an amazing woman and inspiration, Sky Sutton. :)
Thank you, Ginger!:) and I love your name: it's the same one my friend A__ uses as her "cover name" when we're out at the bars. Sometimes those guys shouldn't get your real name... ;)
I live in Greenwood In. How do I get Popcorns booze here in Indiana?
The booze being sold as Popcorn's is Hank Williams Jr.'s product. No Sutton blood has anything to do with it. I have no idea where to find it.
Your father was amazing! His legacy will forever live on.
Hi, I just saw the Discovery show Moonshiners, where they talked about your dad. (Yes, I know, we are a little bit late in Europe..)
Anyhow: Amazing legacy!
All the best to You!

Hi , I'm from Australia (the land down under) I would like to read Popcorns book, being in Aus, looks like we can't buy it from amazon, is there an electronic version available to buy ?
thanks
Rob
Hello, Rob from Oz~
There is an electronic version in the works. I'll post a link when it's ready. No worries, mate, she'll be right. ;)
Hello Sky! Stayed in Maggie Valley for a week, from Canada-- there we learned of your Dad. What a colorful character he was! What does he say he has in his hat in the interview with Johnny Knoxville? I think he says "coon dick". ;)
That would be a "coon dick" or a "coon pecker". Not an uncommon item in the world of moonshine; great for picking your teeth, cleaning your nails or helping the shine drip without splashing. ;)
Hey sky big fan of your fathers work and the bizz will never be the same with out him. Also big fan of the show moonshiners. My question is about of course your father... I was wondering if he was arrested and if he died in jail or how he got poisened in jail... thanks...
Kyle
From n.h.
Hey Kyle from NH,
Yes, he was arrested. No, he didn't die in jail. Nor was he poisoned. Did someone report that he did? He didn't go to jail at all. He was on house arrest with an ankle bracelette. No one poisoned him. He did it himself. With carbon monoxide. Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton committed suicide in his back yard using his own car.
cheers,
Sky (right under ya' in MA- hope the storm didn't mess you guys up.)
I heard that they will start bottling the likker instead of using the mason jars do you think the full jars will ever have any value like in years to come
Brandon from Tennessee
Hey Brandon from TN,
Jars will always be the traditional container. And full jars will always value- at least the value of the contents. :)
So long as there's a collectors market anything can have value if people want to collect it. I wish there were dirty laundry collector, I've got tons. ;)
The booze in your fathers name is actually becoming quite popular. Something funny is going on with your fathers last wife and Hank Williams Jr. Something smells rotten.
I'm sure you know Chad and Jerry Rogers. They are family of mine and we live in morristown, tn. Your dad is a legend in these parts. You should be very proud of him! Its pathetic what the feds done. He will forever live on and no one will be able to do it like he did.
Popcorn rules I would be honoured to meet sky sutton she's so down to earth and beutifull : ) sky write me at flash5413@gmail.com
I can attest the shine with Popcorn's name on it now in no way tastes anything like what Popcorn used to make. It is a shame
